Job profile:

We are looking for a motivated person with technical education and experience in general scientific instrumentation, experimental techniques and computer technology to join our scientific team on a long-term basis. You will join our researcher team in the everyday work in laboratory environment, help with computer-related problems and support our research activities.

 

Your tasks:

  • General and operational laboratory support.
  • Design and implementation of simple mechanical arrangements.
  • Implementation and tests of new devices.
  • Organization of opto-electronic measuring stations and measuring electronics.
  • Documentation of IT issues (ticketing).
  • Maintenance of the software licenses and of the hardware of the division in cooperation with the central IT.
  • Configuration of the Windows computers at the division.

 

Requirements:

  • Completed vocational training in the technical field or comparable professional experience with a technical background.
  • You are reliable, independently working person with sensitivity on technical details.
  • You are highly motivated, well organized, open-minded person with good              problem-solving skills.
  • You communicate in a gentle and effective way. Both your German and English are fluent.
  • You have deep knowledge of current Windows operating systems (Win 7 and above).
  • Experience with CAD software for mechanical design and/or for ray-tracing of optical components (for instance, Zemax, ASAP) is highly appreciated.
  • Experience with vacuum technology, optics and laser technology is an advantage.
